Bourne’s penultimate two day collective sale before Christmas includes a variety of items from both private vendors and deceased estates.
We start the sale with lot 1, a 500th Anniversary 1489-1989 gold proof sovereign three coin set comprising a half sovereign, full sovereign and double sovereign. With gold prices remaining strong we expect the set to perform well on sale day. Silver prices also remain high, and lot 7 a John Pinches Medallists LTD One Thousand Years of British Monarchy silver ingot collection weighs in at a staggering 105 troy ounces and will similarly attract competitive bidding on saleday.

If you are thinking about gift buying early, we have a number of show stopping pieces of jewellery in Wednesday’s sale. A stand out piece is lot 2, an 18ct white gold rectangular emerald cut diamond ring, flanked by two round brilliant cut diamonds. A personal favourite is lot number 3, a pair of 18ct white gold and diamond cluster earrings. Lot 16, a matched suite of jewellery comprising a necklace, bracelet, earrings and pendant is similarly eye-catching.

Blue and white banded Cornish ware always proves popular at auction, and in this month’s sale a collection of TG Green & Co kitchen jars and covers consigned by a private vendor should attract much presale interest (lot 6). Following on with the kitchen theme, a set of three Fortnum and Masons Elizabeth II pottery Christmas pudding bowls might be worth purchasing if you plan to have your Christmas cake ready in time for Christmas (lot 71).

Another personal favourite in months sale is an Anglo-Indian tea caddy workbox. The finely carved and inlaid tortoise to the top of the box encloses a compartment for tea, while the base encloses a fitted drawer for other trinkets (lot 8).
