In our Lincoln Collective Sale on the 25th February we are offering a rare medal from the Lincoln City Championship winning team of 1931/32. The medal is struck in 9ct gold and was awarded to their centre forward, Allan Hall.

Mr Hall was the top scorer that season with an impressive 41 goals from 40 games. His career at Lincoln saw him score 65 goals in 72 games over the period. Due to this, he was seen as one of the most prolific pre-war Lincoln City goal scorers.
At the end of the 1931/32 season, Lincoln City finished level on 57 points with Gateshead, but with 106 goals for and 47 against, they took their very first league title. Alan Hall’s record of 42 goals in a season is still a record for a Lincoln City player to this day.
Mr Hall’s impressive goal scoring form saw his career progress and enabled him to transfer to 1st division Tottenham Hotspur in 1933. He later went on to have a distinguished career with Doncaster Rovers, Middlesborough, Bradford City and Blackpool, finishing his career locally, with Gainsborough Trinity.
After Allan’s retirement from football, he settled in Lincoln for a number of years and later died in 1983.
