Anyone For Tennis?

The 21st October saw not only a fabulous diamond tennis bracelet offered and sold amongst a strong jewellery section, but a distinct change in temperature reminding us that Christmas Day is around the corner. We all know how busy Father Christmas is and to help him out, Golding Young can sell your unwanted jewellery and find buyers of sparkly items all ready for the big day.

The piece in question was a quite superb diamond tennis bracelet. Firstly where did this title come from for what is a bracelet complete full of diamonds? I have been reliably informed by our expert and diligent reception team that the name came about in 1978 when the legendary player Chris Evert was participating in the US Open and lost her diamond bracelet during a match, causing a pause in proceedings and resulting in this title for any similar full diamond bracelet.

This example was exquisite. Of good colour, clarity and of the highest quality. It commanded huge numbers of pre sale interest and was seen in our advertising banner pre sale.

It is a terrific object and one which would catch the eye across a room. As with everything and diamonds are no exception, there are issues in its sale which is where Golding Young comes in. Pure pieces are stagnating in price in areas due to the high quality of lab grown ‘stones’ that look the part but have not been mined; as such it is crucial to catalogue such things correctly and to advertise the original mined pieces heavily.

We are seen throughout the world and a huge presale interest was created on this, selling as it did for the pleasing figure of £6250.

With our three salerooms in Bourne, Grantham and Lincoln, we have a huge amount of festive present ideas coming up and if you are looking to buy it is far better doing so at an accredited firm like ours as opposed to the commission busting high street or the non RICS provincial opposition elsewhere.

Similarly if you have a collection of jewellery or gold to consign, prices remain strong and we have the ability to find buyers throughout the world and we would be delighted to help further.

Always ask if you require an item of jewellery to buy, sell or be valued and we will only be too pleased to help.
