Kirsty is the second generation of the Young family to be involved in the firm having received a full and varied grounding in auction house protocols over her formative years.

In 2012 she passed the NAVA Technical Award in Chattels Auctioneering and at 17 became the youngest person to be admitted as a full member of the National Association of Valuers & Auctioneers.

Kirsty took to the rostrum for the first time in the summer of 2012, selling over 120 lots. A month later she competed in the NAVA Novice Auctioneer of the Year competition.  Since 2013 she has firmly established herself as a Senior Auctioneer becoming highly respected by buyers and peers alike. She sold on each day of the firm's marathon 150th Anniversary Sale in 2014 in Bourne, Grantham & Lincoln.

In 2014 Kirsty completed the two-year JET I & II (Jewellery Education & Training) course with The National Association of Goldsmiths. She passed (with distinction) and now holds the coveted Professional Jewellers Diploma.

In 2014 she was appointed Lincoln Saleroom Manager at the age of 19, beating her father to the position by 2 years.

January 2015 saw her first appearance as an auctioneer on BBC's Antiques Road Trip followed by 2016 appearances on BBC Bargain Hunt.

In July 2017 she became an Associate Director taking on an increasing number of organisational and development roles including Webmaster as well as commencing her Business BA (Hons) degree with Arden University.

She graduated on Lincolnshire Day, 1st October 2019 then immediately focussed her studies at the Antiques & Fine Art qualification route of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

For 2021 Kirsty took on the additional role of Grantham Head of Department & Resident Valuer.

For 2022 Kirsty changed offices and became the Bourne Head of Department & Resident Valuer.

In 2023 Kirsty added a further role as a Director of Golding Young Limited now working, cataloguing and selling across all offices.

In April 2024 Kirsty became a professional member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.  After four years of private study, outside a busy career, she finally qualified as a Chartered Arts & Antiques Surveyor and is now a 'Chartered' Auctioneer & Valuer.
