John started his career at Lyall & Co in Bourne and after decades of running his practice of Chartered Surveyors & Auctioneers he joined Richardsons in Bourne.
He retired when Golding Young & Mawer merged with Richardsons in 2013.
In 2024 John was invited back to cover on the rostrum for some staff holidays. The response was immediate on the day with texts, emails and telephone calls asking 'Who is your brilliant new auctioneer?'
After such a resounding endorsement, he remains on call for auctioneering duties as required.
