A 19th Century Sevres porcelain cup and saucer consigned during our Friday valuation mornings was a great success. Despite it showing some signs of age bidding opened with a telephone bid of £500.
What ensued was a fierce battle between a telephone bidder and an online bidder. The telephone bidder finally bowed out at £1150 and the online bidder was successful, paying £1200.
