1.      A pair of George II Irish salvers of shaped hexagonal form, pie crust rims moulded with scrolling acanthus, the centres flat chased with girdles of scrolls, fruit and foliage, raised on triple plain pad feet, engraved with arms of Blakenby of Mount Blakenby, impaling Blakenby of Adercastle Co Galway. Dublin Circa 1750, maker John Letablere, 25oz approx.
Robert son of John Blakenby of Mount Blakenby; Married Gertrude, daughter and heiress of Major Robert Blakenby of Adercastle in 1752.
Provenance: The salvers where bought by the current owner at Henry Spencer and Sons Auctions in 1974 and have remained in their possession since.£1500-2500

Attribution: An old label verso states;- 'This picture was bought by Mrs. Mackenzie on the advice of Mr. Gibbs who was supposed to be a sound judge. It was sold as a Cuyp. Mr. Tooth had no hesitation as to the painter. I happened to see it hanging in the servants' hall at Dawson Place and Mrs. Mackenzie said I could have it and welcome to it. She also gave me the next picture which I believe was also bought on Mr Gibb's advice. I expect she paid far too much for them, as she seemed glad to get them out of her sight.'£700-1000
